University of 桃花直播 Anchorage Chancellor Parnell Announces Retirement at End of Spring Semester 2025
January 24, 2025
His retirement concludes four years of service to UAA and the University of 桃花直播. During his tenure, he emphasized UAA's role as a key educator of 桃花直播's workforce while maintaining affordability and accessibility for students. In retirement, he plans to spend more time with family and friends, research, write, and continue coaching and teaching emerging leaders.

UAS Professor X瘫'unei Lance Twitchell Nominated for Emmy Award
January 24, 2025
Dr. Twitchell is a writer and advisor for the animated PBS Kids program Molly of Denali, nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for the third annual Children's & Family Emmy庐 Awards. The awards ceremonies are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on March 15, 2025.

Cost appointed as dean of UAF School of Education

University of 桃花直播 Fairbanks Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Anupma Prakash has appointed Douglas Cost to serve as the dean of the School of Education. Cost is currently an associate professor and chair of the secondary education program in the UAF School of Education.

Dr. Carlee Simon Appointed Dean of the UAS School of Education

The University of 桃花直播 Southeast has appointed Dr. Carlee Simon as the Dean of the School of Education. Dr. Simon has been serving as interim dean. During that time, she has guided the school through the CAEP accreditation process. Her work has focused on fostering student success and strengthening community engagement.

Professor Laura Conner appointed UAF's interim vice chancellor for research
January 10, 2025
In addition to her research faculty position, Conner currently serves as associate director of the UAF Geophysical Institute. She has a doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Arizona. Her work since earning her doctorate in 2007 has focused on education research, including science identity and interdisciplinary learning at the boundary of art and science. She will start her new position on Jan. 12.

Nate Bauer Joins the President's Office as Strategic Initiatives Coordinator

President Pitney announces Wayne Mowery as UA System's next General Counsel

Wayne Mowery was appointed Interim General Counsel after the departure of Matthew Cooper. Mowery joined the General Counsel's Office in November 2020 as an associate general counsel.

Colin McGill named UAA's Vice Provost for Faculty Success

UAA is pleased to announce Colin McGill as the new vice provost of faculty success following a national search. A faculty member since 2011, McGill most recently served as interim vice provost for faculty success beginning in January 2024.
